A day in the life.

This is a day in my life.

At 4:45 my alarm clock goes off.  I wake up looking like a super model and skip my way to the coffee pot. Ha, I’m just kidding. I wake up looking like a troll with a rat’s nest on top, pillow dents in my face and  I sleepwalk my way to the coffee pot.

I make my coffee in a regular pot, no Keurig thing. I like my coffee strong and I drink a lot of it, soooo the Keurig is better at work for the occasional Cappuccino or Green Tea.

Coffee in hand, I’m off to assess the damage of sleep to my hair. I wash my hair every 3-4 days, depending on what this assessment in the morning looks like. If it’s too bad, I’ll go ahead and wash it, if I think I can squeeze another day out of it, I pull it up and hop in the shower. This morning it’s a hot mess.

I start to wake Little at 6:00 because he is a BEAST to wake up. I have to start early and easy with that kid. Whew.

By now, I’m knee deep in a pot of coffee and feeling more alive.

I do my makeup and get dressed and then I fully wake the Little and get him UP AND MOVING. This is the key part to waking a pre teen. Up and moving.

If you don’t ensure that they are up and moving- you will be late for work and your morning will be wrecked.

I have to open my office at 7:00am, so Little comes to work with me and I leave shortly after to take him across town to school. We usually drive thru something unhealthy on Mondays, I don’t know why. It’s just our breakfast drive thru day. Today we ignored fruit and ate Pop Tarts.

Today is school picture day. He’s excited to wear his super cool tribal shirt. ❤️

Work is work is work.

Lunch. ❤️🙈

I commute back across town around 2:30 or so to pick Little up and he comes back to the office with me to finish up.

I know, it’s like Uber during the school year.

Those eyes are tired right there.

Anyway, after I lock up at 4:30pm, I head home and I kid you not… we race to see who can dump work clothes and school uniforms the fastest. Little holds the record for 43 seconds. I come in a cool second at 48.

I usually have coffee again and we figure out a plan for food.  Usually, I do shopping on Sunday, so that the first part of the week we can come straight home. Sometimes that plan fails and I have to stop at the grocery on the way home.

Homework HAS to be done before the track, because 2 miles and a sleepy Little later, it get’s sort of difficult to do. Before the track and after food is much better.

Walking is usually an hour long affair, we/ I walk and he scoots.

The great motivator.

After our walk, it’s bath time and bedtime and laundry and writing time for me.

This is when I plan for Stuff Sunshine Says and a lot of times when I write my posts. I guess by now it’s 10:30pm or so. I have to truly unwind my mind before sleep, sometimes this is a success, sometimes it’s 1am and I’m in the kitchen looking for something to eat. Sometimes, it’s 3am and I finally drag ass to the coffee pot. Sometimes, sleep is fleeting or even a no show.

Either way, my day starts over at 4:45am.

The Mister says I’m the only person he knows who leaves their alarms on for the weekend. And I do. I try to wake at the same time every day, no matter what’s going on. Especially on the weekends, I don’t want to lose time by sleeping. I need to accomplish things, write, save the world, fish, drink coffee, watch YouTube, take walks, see stuff, did I mention save the world? You get my point, I am not a lay in bed all day kind of girl. My time is precious, especially time away from work.

This is a day in my life.

Tell me about a day in yours.
