Today is the last day of pool season. Last day to wear white, last day to wear sandals and anything remotely summer related. Now is the time for all things Pumpkin.
Ummmmm. yea. It’s still supposed to be 98 degrees in SC every day this week, so pumpkin just might have to wait until it cools off just a little bit. I’m so ready too.
Anyway, for todays look, I wanted to revisit some makeup of the past and try some new things that were waiting patiently in my try me soon basket. The main star of today’s show is the Aphrodite palette by Bad Habit.
We’ll start from the beginning though.
For my face, I tried the Golden Rose Stick Foundation shade 01.
This foundation is new to me. I don’t know that I don’t like it, but I’m not so sure that I do. Right now, I don’t really like any foundation. Pretty sure it’s my skin being temperamental or something in this plethora of auto immune crap I have going on that’s making it so dry and crepy. Anyway. It’s light, and it seemed to show every little detail. This one doesn’t even photograph well.
Again, could just be me.
I used my normal powder, LA Mineral Pressed powder and tried to give life to my skin with the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer in Light. I used Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Genius on my cheeks, and highlighted my whole damn face with Wet N Wild Coloricon Bronzer in Reserve Your Cabana. Yes, my whole face. I need complexion help. For reals.
Oh, I forgot to mention these spoon brush things from AOA Studio. I’m a beauty sponge kinda girl, so this wasn’t my bag, but it did work. I should have done half and half to see if the finish was discernibly different, but I had eye makeup on my mind. I’ll try that soon and will let you know.
My eye look got a little wonky, because I wanted as many of the shades on my eyes as humanly possible.
On my right eye, I highlighted with Coy, and ran a
little, okay.. a LOTTLE of the shade Blushing in my crease and slightly above. I packed Lust on the outer half of my lid and topped that with Love. Then I wet my shader brush and packed Crush on the inner half of my lid and overlapped the two just slightly. I loaded up my lower lash line with Flirt, and lined my eye with NXY Jumbo pencil in the shade Milk.
Theeeeen I moved to my Left eye.
For, this eye… I highlighted with Coy and ran a lottle of Flirt in my crease and slightly above. I packed on Lust in the outer half of my and topped it with Love. I used the same damp shader brush with Crush and overlapped the two shades. This time I loaded up my lower lash line with Blushing and continued on with liner.
I went back in super close to my lower lash line with the shade Seduction, because the look just needed a little more definition on the bottom. (Seduction is not pictured in the swatches, it’s a beautiful chocolate brown. I coated my lashed with Benefit’s They’re Real and set my whole face with Catrice Prime and Fine. I’m wearing Ulta Matte Lip Crayon I Bubbly on my lips. 💋❤️
What do you think? Can you tell a difference?
So fun, this is a similar look from the past.
Oh. I almost forgot, yso as far as my revisit goes:
I love the shades in this palette. It’s a me one as far as that goes. The mattes are pretty damn powdery, but buildable. definitely not as saturated as I expected- and I’m okay with that. Buildable is better for me.
This is my Monday face.
